Edifício Thays Project

This landscape design project is built around the use of WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) — an innovative, eco-friendly material made from recycled plastic waste, wood powder, and plant fiber, completely free of toxic substances. Circular planters clad in this same material were used to elevate large specimens such as Magnolia grandiflora and Acer palmatum, the true focal points of the garden. This approach allowed their growth to be carefully managed, maintaining a balanced scale within the space.
The homeowner played a key role in the thoughtful selection of plant species, adding fruit trees such as lemon, cherry, and plum to enjoy their blossoms at different times of the year.
The design also features an outdoor shower with hot water, creatively repurposed from a special piece gifted by her father; jasmine and Iceberg roses that frame a small Virgin statue; a vegetable garden; and a solarium that takes advantage of the building’s central pool. The inclusion of a corten steel fountain and mirrors creates a window-like visual effect, expanding and visually doubling the space.
