A project to extend the house made it possible to triple the garden’s green space, creating an ideal setting to enjoy the outdoors all year round. The design prioritized species that highlight two key seasons: while the Acer palmatum stands out for its vibrant autumn foliage, the white-flowering azaleas provide a delicate winter contrast and ensure lush greenery throughout the year.
The fountain serves as a focal point—its constant movement, framed by papyrus plants, adds texture and dynamism. A path lined with palms guides the way and offers privacy from adjacent buildings. Lavender also plays a starring role, infusing the space with colour and fragrance.
At the heart of the garden lies the fire pit, which seamlessly connects the original garden with the new extension, making use of the terrain’s natural slopes to add visual interest along the way. A vegetable garden and an old pale pink climbing rose were also incorporated, bringing both charm and functionality to the space.
