“A garden meant to be lived”

When we began this project, we allowed ourselves to truly get to know Marcelo and Nieves their backgrounds, the places they lived, and the memories that shaped them. We understood that this garden needed to be much more than a pleasant space: it had to function for a family in constant motion. With four boys and a private neighborhood full of friends coming and going, the challenge was clear: to create a space that could keep pace with their daily rhythm, while also offering moments of calm.
The back of the garden, which originally had a significant slope, was transformed into an alternative entrance thanks to a ramp built with wooden sleepers. This solution not only resolved a technical issue but also created a pathway with strong character. We divided the garden into well-defined areas: a reading nook, a fire pit, a lounge, a trampoline, swings, a football field, and a vegetable garden.

Two trees stand out as undeniable protagonists: the Liquidambar, with its spectacular autumn foliage, and the Jacaranda, which bursts with color and shade in spring. They are joined by two fruit trees a peach tree and an ornamental plum which not only bear fruit but also add beauty.

The main entrance also deserved its own magic. For that reason, we designed it as a winding path that reveals itself slowly. The recurring circular motif throughout the garden frames a planting bed that embraces the pathway leading to the front door.

This is not just a garden designed by us; it is a lived-in garden, conceived with and for the family. It is a space that will grow with them, evolving and adapting over time.
A garden to play in, to gather, to rest… and above all, to be enjoyed every day of the year.
